A client has been talking about a conflict for 20 minutes, names five different people involved and jumps back and forth between past and present. As a coach or consultant, you can sense this: The core lies deeper here, but words alone are no longer enough to grasp it.

This is exactly where the magic of visualization begins.

When words reach their limits

Language is linear - one word follows another. However, our problems and relationships are systemic and networked. Everything happens simultaneously and influences each other. If we try to grasp this complexity purely cognitively, the famous „knot in the head“ quickly arises.

The „aha effect“ from the view from above

The VISTEMA®-Board uses a simple but effective psychological mechanism: Externalization. By bringing the inner image out onto the board, three things happen:

Emotional relief: The problem is no longer „in me“, but „there on the board“. This provides immediate relief.

New perspectives: We can literally turn the problem around. What happens if I stand behind the boss? What does the situation look like from the customer's perspective?

Simulate solutions: We can try out changes without there being any consequences in reality. „What if this character took a step back?“

Why digital often works even better

Many coaches were initially concerned that the „feel“ of online work would be missing. However, experience has shown otherwise: digital work on the VISTEMA®-board allows a focus that is often more difficult in the analog room.

„The board creates a shared ‚third level‘ on which coach and client can focus. The screen doesn't separate, it connects.“

Conclusion

Whether in therapy, business coaching or mediation, making complex issues visible helps you find the way to a solution more quickly. Just try it out in your next session - set up your first figure.

Language is linear, but our problems are systemically networked.
